WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE My passion is painting local street scenes, landscapes, towns and villages in and around the North lakes area of Cumbria. Born in Moresby in Whitehaven, I graduated from Carlisle College, moved to London and then Kent for 33 years before returning home in 2018 to live in Maryport, which is the subject of many of my paintings. As I'm sure everyone who knows the area knows, we can experience three or even four different weather fronts in one day, which makes for great painting! Whether it's the sea, calm or ferociously stormy along the promenade, rainy streets at night time, or the fantastic views from the hill tops, this is where I draw my inspiration from. Equally as fascinating to me are the surrounding streets, with their long preserved Georgian and Victorian houses and shop fronts, the evening lighting, whether bustling or still, these are the places inspire me to paint.  I have recently had more commissions for pet and family portraits, which I am also more than happy to do.

Prices are based on complexity and content of the subject. Regarding pet paintings please instruct as to whether it's just a head and shoulders or full body required, and please remember I will need a decent quality photo to capture the true character of your subject.
